Modern options for chronic foot and ankle pain, from laser therapy and ultrasonic tissue treatment to reconstructive surgery.

What You Need To Know
A closer look at the advanced treatments we offer for foot and ankle pain.
Advanced Foot and Ankle Treatments
At Desert Foot and Ankle, we offer advanced treatments and procedures designed to address chronic pain, soft tissue injuries, and structural foot and ankle conditions that have not responded to conservative care. Our goal is to help you get back to the activities you love.
Amniotic stem cell therapy is a safe and effective regenerative treatment that can reduce inflammation and scarring. Amniotic fluid is highly concentrated in stem cells, proteins, cytokines, and other important compounds. The fluid contains growth factors that stimulate tissue growth and stem cell activity, along with hyaluronic acid that promotes cartilage growth. There is no risk of rejection in the patient.
For pain and inflammation, we offer both FX635 Laser Therapy and MLS Laser Therapy. FX635 is a low-level laser therapy, sometimes called a cold laser, used to address acute and chronic pain with no drugs, no side effects, and no downtime. MLS Laser Therapy uses alternating pulses of light wavelengths to reduce inflammation and accelerate cellular reproduction, helping tendons, ligaments, and muscles repair more quickly.
Diagnostic ultrasound helps us evaluate ligaments, the Achilles tendon, the plantar fascia, the posterior tibial tendon, and the peroneal tendons. This non-invasive imaging guides accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Minimally Invasive and Surgical Options
The Tenex Health TX System uses ultrasonic energy to treat pain-causing soft and hard tissue through a minimally invasive percutaneous approach. It is designed for those suffering from chronic tendon or plantar fascia damage, also known as tendinosis or plantar fasciosis. Your doctor identifies the damaged tissue with ultrasound, numbs the area with local anesthetic, and uses the TX MicroTip to break down and remove diseased tissue while leaving healthy tendon unharmed. No stitches are required, and many patients return to normal activity within 6 to 8 weeks.
Subchondral stabilization is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat the bone layer beneath the cartilage during the healing process. Chronic foot pain may result from edema in the bone, which an MRI can identify as the cause of microfractures. A bone substitute material is injected to stabilize bones compromised by defects, lesions, or fractures, and is replaced by new bone during healing.
For toenail fungus, class IV laser therapy penetrates the nail bed to kill the fungus, allowing a new, healthy nail to grow. Treatments take about 15 to 20 minutes with no downtime and no anesthesia.
Our providers also perform foot and ankle reconstruction and forefoot surgery, including shifting of bones, tendon lengthening, foot fusion, and external fixation. Forefoot surgery treats advanced cases of bunions, bunionettes, bone spurs, hammertoes, and neuromas. We always explore conservative treatments first.
